Alert to
Taxpayers
Don’t Get Ripped Off and Don’t Waste
Your Money
We have recently seen new companies being started that appear not to
have qualified tax professionals on staff to resolve IRS problems. We
are concerned that these companies make take your money, and not be able
to perform the services they promise in their website.
There’s been an influx of new tax resolution companies being started
that do not identify their staff’s tax professionals by name. Instead,
these companies are making the following general statements in their
websites:
IRS insider knowledge
Many years working as tax resolution specialists
Staff includes: Attorneys, Enrolled Agents, CPA’s and Tax Specialists
Our founders of the company have many years of tax resolution experience
Representing clients before the IRS requires a person to have
significant tax knowledge, IRS insider knowledge and experience,
negotiation and mediation skills and the personality needed to
aggressively defend a client against the IRS.
When you have an IRS problem and are looking for a firm to represent
you, we highly recommend that you find out the names of the tax
professionals who are working at that firm. Hiring a tax representation
firm based mainly on their slick looking website could be a fatal
mistake on your part. Do your homework and ask questions. Any reputable
firm you contact should be very willing to identify the names of the tax
professionals they have on staff.
We also wanted to alert you to another major area of concern. Many of
these new companies with no-named professionals have an A Better
Business Bureau rating. These companies used someone’s professional
credentials to open a Better Business Bureau listing. Although those
credentials may have been issued several years ago (before the business
started), the Better Business Bureau’s uses that date as the start date
of the Better Business Bureau listing, rather than the more current
actual opening of the company. These companies are tricking the Better
Business Bureau into giving them an A rating for work that was done by
one person, before the business was even started.
We believe that everyone has the right to be represented before the IRS
in order to resolve their tax problems. Choosing the right firm to
defend you against the IRS is one of the most important decisions you
make in your life. Please take the time needed to find out the names and
qualifications of the tax professional on staff and determine when the
company actually opened for business.
You should feel comfortable knowing the firm you hire will consider you
part of their family and that your case is their number one priority.
One Final Point: Some of the websites we’ve seen are actually referral
websites, and not actual tax resolution companies. There are no
professionals on staff and they don’t do any tax resolution work.
Instead, the website company takes your name and telephone number and
forwards the “lead” to an unknown tax resolution company.
